Lambert Lin
Lambert Lin’s academic and professional journey, at the intersection of environmental science,
economics and data analytics, reflects his deep commitment to integrating technological
innovation with sustainable development. Lambert completed his undergraduate studies at
Sichuan University in China, where he earned dual degrees in Bachelor of Engineering and
Economics, with a focus on Environmental and Financial Engineering. After that he completed
his Master’s degree of Development Engineering with a concentration in AI/Data Analytics for
Social Impact in University of California, Berkeley. During his master program, Lambert was
awarded the NSF Digital Transformation of Development (DToD) Fellowship in 2022-2023 in
Blum Center for Developing Economies at Berkeley, recognizing his plans to deploy digital tools
for the betterment of low-income populations globally. Specifically in the summer of 2023, he
interned as a Data Analyst at the High Atlas Foundation (HAF) in Marrakesh as a Global Fellow
project through the Milken Innovation Center-Jerusalem Institute. There, he processed plantation
data and assessed the ecosystem service value and carbon benefit of land transition activities.
His work included evaluating the economic impact of land use transition in Morocco using data
from various sources, including satellite imagery and the World Bank. His findings highlighted the
significant impact of blended finance incentives on land transition, estimating an impact of 62.7
billion dollars.
