Israeli Funds in Multilateral Development Banks

One of the main challenges of working with the framework of the MDBs is the relatively low influence any donor country has with regards to the utilization of the organizations’ resources, considering the large number of donor countries. One way of dealing with this challenge is establishing funding platforms, pooling small donor funds into a larger fund to leverage investments and impacts and creates a portfolio of investments built on sharing knowledge and risks. At present, the State of Israel has seven active funds in four MDBs, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank (ADB), the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and the World Bank Group (WBG), totaling 14 million US dollars.
