In 2012, the Israeli government began to take steps to promote social enterprises, calling for the establishment of the “social initiatives fund,” which is an investment fund for social enterprise.

This study discusses three main areas of the social initiatives fund:

1) The definition of social enterprise
2) The social and economic outcomes from the investment
3) The financial structure of the social initiatives fund
