The Effect of Public Transportation on the Entrance of Arab Women in Israel to the Workforce

The Arab-Israeli community largely resides in regions of low socioeconomic status, which generally also mean that lack of access to means of transportation. The levels of unemployment among the Arab-Israeli sector is quite high, particularly so among Arab-Israeli women, where the unemployment rate stands at 76%.

This reality has important economic and social consequences which must be studied more in depth. As a step in that direction, this research focuses on the effect of public transportation disparities on the entrance of Arab-Israeli women into the workforce.
