Geographic Concentration on Local Levels of Competition

This research is an investigation of the grocery retail market. Its purpose is to assess the strength of any connection between geographical concentration and local levels of competition, and how geographical concentration affects consumers. The investigation was conducted in the wake of the rising food prices in the past few years and consumer complaints about grocery retailers voiced during the “social justice protests” of 2011.
